

Wu Xiaokun is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Journalism and Communication, South China University of Technology; Director of the Research Center for Data Analysis and Information Visualization. Her research interests include computational communication, new media and social governance, mainly engaged in the intersection of communication and computer science. She received a PhD in Communication (Literature) from Shanghai University in 2010 and a PhD in Computer Science (Engineering) from South China University of Technology in 2022. She presided over 1 key project and 1 general project of the National Social Science Fund, presided over 3 provincial and ministerial level major projects, key projects and general projects; participated in 4 national social science and self-science projects. She has published 3 monographs and 1 translation, and published more than 60 academic papers. Her research papers have won the "Youth Achievement Award" of the 8th Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award of Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, and the "First Prize of Thesis Category" of the 13th Shanghai Philosophy and Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award. She also went to the University of Missouri in the United States and Hong Kong Baptist University as a medium- and long-term visiting scholar, and was invited to give lectures and lectures in universities such as Jönköping University in Sweden and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 2019, Wu Xiaokun was awarded the "Youth Cultural Talent" of the Special Support Program of Guangdong Province; in 2020, she was awarded the Changjiang Young Scholar of the Ministry of Education.
