BIOGRAPHY
Chen Hong holds a bachelor's degree from Zhejiang University, a master's degree from the University of Electro-Communications in Japan, and a Ph.D. from Waseda University in Japan.
He previously worked in the corporate sector, focusing on the research and development of network services, e-commerce, and IoT big data systems. Later, he taught at Waseda University and the Daiichi Institute of Technology(Japan), as well as Xiamen Institute of Technology, while also serving as a specially invited researcher at the Human Comprehensive Research Center of Waseda University, engaging in long-term interdisciplinary research.
His research focuses on the intersection of human-centered intelligent systems, pervasive computing, and IoT big data, addressing prevalent issues in the Internet of Things (IoT) such as data silos, privacy breaches, and platform lock-in. He explores the construction of personalized, decentralized digital environments to empower smart homes, smart learning, smart aging, and smart cities.
He has published over 20 papers in international journals and conference proceedings, and his research achievements have been recognized as the "2012 Best Computing Book of the Year" by ACM Computing Reviews. He has been deeply involved in organizing multiple international academic conferences, receiving the Outstanding Leadership Award at IEEE Cyber SciTech 2019 and the Outstanding Service Award in 2021 for his significant contributions.
