美国马里兰大学首席教授、 IEEE Access 期刊主编 、Prof. Michael Pecht，受实验室舒磊教授邀请，依托广东省石化装备故障诊断重点实验室，获得2016年广东省外国专家短期访问项目计划资助，将于12月13-20日访问实验室，并作学术报告和指导实验室科研人员的科研工作。

Prof Michael Pecht has a BS in Physics, an MS in Electrical Engineering and an MS and PhD in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is a Professional Engineer, an IEEE Fellow, an ASME Fellow, an SAE Fellow and an IMAPS Fellow. 

He is the editor-in-chief of IEEE Access, and served as chief editor of the IEEE Transactions on Reliability for nine years, and chief editor for Microelectronics Reliability for sixteen years.He has also served on three U.S. National Academy of Science studies, two US Congressional investigations in automotive safety, and as an expert to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). 

He is the founder and Director of CALCE (Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering) at the University of Maryland, which is funded by over 150 of the world’s leading electronics companies at more than US$6M/year. The CALCE Center received the NSF Innovation Award in 2009 and the National Defense Industries Association Award. 

Prof Pecht is currently a Chair Professor in Mechanical Engineering and a Professor in Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Scientific Computation at the University of Maryland. He has written more than twenty books on product reliability, development, use and supply chain management.  He has also written a series of books of the electronics industry in China, Korea, Japan and India. He has written over 700 technical articles and has 8 patents. 

In 2010, he received the IEEE Exceptional Technical Achievement Award for his innovations in the area of prognostics and systems health management.  In 2008, he was awarded the highest reliability honor, the IEEE Reliability Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Michael Pecht现任美国马里兰大学机械工程系首席教授、马里兰大学应用数学系首席教授，是美国马里兰大学先进寿命周期工程中心（CALCE）的创始人与负责人，该中心得到了全球150多家知名公司的资助，每年获得的资助超过600万美元。Michael Pecht是美国科学/工程院（National Academy of Science / Engineering, NAE / NAS）可靠性委员会成员、美国国会调查委员会专家（负责能源 & 商业领域）、美国食品与药品监督管理局（FDA）专家，美国电气电子工程师学会院士(IEEE Fellow）、美国机械工程师学会院士 （ASME Fellow）、国际微电子与封装协会院士（IMAPS Fellow和美国汽车工程师学会院士（SAE Fellow）。鉴于他在可靠性研究领域的卓越贡献，2007年被授予了可靠性研究和应用领域的最高荣誉——IEEE可靠性分会终身成就奖。此外，他还获得过欧洲微纳米可靠性大奖以及电子封装领域的3M研究奖等诸多国际奖项。他曾担任IEEE Transactions on Reliability刊物主编八年，同时在IEEE Spectrum杂志的顾问委员会任职。目前他是Microelectronics Reliability杂志的主编以及IEEE Transactions On Components and Packaging Technology杂志的副主编。他出版过20多本关于电子产品开发、使用及供应链管理的著作，发表700多篇学术论文。主持或参与200多个政府与工业界的研究项目，并担任22家大型国际电子产品公司的技术顾问，咨询服务内容涉及电子产品及系统的策略规划、设计、测试和寿命预测、知识产权及风险评估，其研究成果多次获得美国有线电视新闻网（CNN）等国际媒体报道。
