Dr. Chunxiao Xing was born in December 1967. He is a professor professor of the Tsinghua University Beijing National Research Center for Information Science and Technology(BNRist), dean of Tsinghua University-Client Service International Inc. Joint Institute for Advanced Intelligent Database (JI-AIDB),  associate dean of Institute for Interdisciplinary Medicine and Engineering(THUIIME) and Institute for China Sustainable Urbanization(TUCSU), Tsinghua University. Formerly served as the associate dean of Research Institute of Information Technology(RIIT) and Institute of Internet Industry(TUIII), Tsinghua University.

His research primarily focuses on the database and data warehouse, big data and knowledge engineering, artificial intelligence, software engineering, blockchain technology, smart city, smart health, digital library technology, and key technologies for e-government, etc.

He is a board member of China Computer Federation, the director of the Committee of the information system (China Computer Federation), a member of the database, the big data and software engineering (China Computer Federation) committe, the Distinguished member of China Computer Federation.

He published more than 300 papers, including 19 SCI and 193 EI journal and conference articles. He has received 23 software copyrights, 40 patents of invention, and a technological achievement of Ministry of Education of China. His research has been supported by a number of national programs of China, such as National Basic Research Program (973), Natural Science Foundation of China, National High-Tech R&D Program (863), national high-tech industrialization project of CNGI, National Science and Technology Support Program.
