Title: Harmonious Synergy: Integrating New Energy, Microgrid and Distributed Generation with Power Electronics and Power Systems
Summary: In pursuing sustainable energy, new energy, microgrids, and distributed generation are key to the energy transition. This workshop focuses on their integration with power electronics and power systems. Power electronics is indispensable and plays a pivotal role in renewable energy. It efficiently converts solar and wind power, optimizing utilization. Advanced converters ensure stable DC - AC output despite energy variability. Power quality is crucial in integrated systems. New energy's intermittency can cause voltage, harmonic, and frequency problems. Active power filters help maintain a stable microgrid power supply. Power system automation, driven by digital signal processing, enables real-time grid monitoring and intelligent control. It adjusts power operations based on energy, load, and grid conditions, enhancing reliability and integration of distributed generation. This workshop will address integration challenges, like component interactions, communication needs, and protection system development. Participants will share innovative ideas and seek novel solutions.

Xiuhui Tang, Wuhan Institute of Technology, China
Xiuhui Tang received her B.Eng. degree in electronic information engineering from Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2015, and the M.Eng. and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, in 2017 and 2022, respectively. Since 2023, she has been with the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, Wuhan Institute of Technology, Wuhan, China, where she is currently a lecturer. Her research interests span over general areas of renewable energy microgrids and control systems, with particular focuses on stability analysis, hybrid microgrids, and optimal control algorithms.
