Li Chen’s current research interests are mainly on various user-centered design issues for online decision systems. She has been strongly enthusiastic for developing intelligent and adaptive user interfaces on preference-based recommender systems, with the aim to significantly improve users’ decision quality and increase their subjective perceptions including decision confidence and trust. Besides, she is interested in investigating the difference among users’ behavior in various decision environments, provided their cultural impacts.
She has authored and co-authored a number of publications appearing in high-quality journals (e.g., TOCHI, UMUAI, AI Magazine, ECRJ, KBS) and leading conferences on e-commerce, artificial intelligence, intelligent user interfaces, user modeling and recommender systems (e.g., ACM EC, AAAI, IUI, UMAP, ACM RecSys). She has been also serving in a number of journals and conferences as guest editor, organizer, PC member and reviewer (e.g., ACM TIST, IJEC, TOCHI, IEEE IS, ACM CHI, UMAP, IUI, ACM RecSys, ACM EC, etc.).
