Xiao Hua, an associate professor and master's supervisor at Guangdong Ocean University, is recognized as a Class A high-level talent in Zhanjiang City, and she holds a Ph.D. from City University of Hong Kong. Her research interests encompass light-emitting devices, nanophotoelectric materials, visible light communication, failure analysis of optoelectronic devices, spectral optimization algorithms, and image processing. She has published over 30 papers in journals such as Opt. Lett., Opt. Express, IEEE Trans. Instrum. Meas., IEEE Electron Device L., and IEEE Trans. Electron Devices , which are indexed by SCI and EI. These papers cover topics including LED lighting source design, spatial light field design for white LEDs, modeling of luminescent surface microstructures, and visible light communication source devices. She has been granted 15 patents for invention and utility models and has obtained 7 software copyrights. She has served as a reviewer for journals such as IEEE Photonics Journal, Chinese Journal of Luminescence, Photonics, Sensors,Sustainability, and Discover Nano, and in 2024, she serves as an editorial board member of the Exploration and CleanMat magazines.
Research Project Leadership: She has led the Young Fund Project at Hunan Normal University from September 2014 to September 2016; the Scientific Research Start-up Fund of Guangdong Ocean University (No. 060302112XXX) from June 2021 to June 2026, which is currently in progress; the Young Innovative Project of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province (No. 2020KQNCXXX) from June 2022 to June 2023, which has been concluded; the Young Characteristic Innovation Project of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province (No. 2022KTSCXXXX) from June 2022 to June 2024, which is currently in progress; the Marine Young Talent Innovation Project of Zhanjiang City (No. 2022E05XXX) from November 2022 to November 2024, which is currently in progress; and the Young Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 62304XXX) from January 2024 to December 2026, which is currently in progress, involving a budget of over 1.6 million yuan.
She participated in several research projects, including the Guangdong Province "Overseas Distinguished Teacher" Innovative Talent Training Project (concluded), where I was the third participant. I also contributed to two Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Fund General Programs as the second participant (2021A1515011XXX, January 2021–December 2023, funding: 100,000 RMB) and the third participant (2025A1515011XXX, January 2025–December 2027, funding: 100,000 RMB).
Teaching: Currently, she is in charge of teaching courses such as "Optical Fiber Communication," "Mobile Internet," and "Scientific Paper Writing." She has experience in teaching at overseas universities and guiding social practice, with 4 years of experience as a class advisor. She has guided over 40 graduates in their graduation projects and has a basic knowledge background in curriculum and teaching theory, modern educational theory, and educational psychology. In the past 2 years, she has published 4 papers on educational reform. She is currently leading a collaborative education project with the Ministry of Education, a school-level educational reform project, and an online open course project of undergraduate colleges in Guangdong Province. She has also participated in collaborative education projects, online open course teaching reform projects, and blended online and offline courses.
Guiding Students in Competitions: She has guided 3 projects in the National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition from May 2021 to May 2023, all of which have been concluded.
Guiding Students: She has guided students to receive the honor of an excellent class collective, guided freshmen and sophomores to publish 3 papers in Chinese journals, and currently serves as a mentor for the Multi-source Heterogeneous Marine Information Intelligent Processing Team and the International Exchange Association.
Awards: She has been evaluated as an excellent class advisor for two consecutive years, was rated as an excellent instructor for the Science and Technology Innovation Society in 2021, received the third prize in the 2023 School Teaching Observation Competition, was named an excellent class advisor at the school level in 2022, received the Excellent Paper Award from the Journal of Luminescence in 2023, and won the Best Oral Presentation Award at the "Singapore International Energy, Materials, and Photonics Conference (EMP23)."
