Special Session on Distributed Adaptive Systems
IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics
background : Adaptability is a common and typical property for natural systems in the real world. It is also an important and desirable property for computer supported artificial distributed intelligent systems. A distributed adaptive system can be viewed as a set of interacting intelligent agents, real or abstract, forming an integrated system that is able to respond to internal and environmental changes. Feedback is a key feature of adaptive systems, enabling the response to changes. Artificial systems can be made adaptive using feedback to sense new conditions in the environment and adapt accordingly. Distributed adaptive systems can find applications in almost all industrial sectors, particularly in aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing.
Topics: The topics for the special session include the following but are not limited to: Fundamental issues of Adaptive Systems, Specifications of Adaptability, Principles of Adaptation, Adaptation Models, Natural Adaptation, Feedback Loop Design in Adaptive Systems, Analysis of Adaptive Systems, Design of Adaptive Systems, Agent Adaptation, Robot Adaptation, Adaptive Human-Machine Systems, Adaptive Group Structures for Agents, Adaptive Operator Agent Interactions, Performance of Adaptive Systems, Assessment/Evaluation of Adaptability, Adaptive Multi-Agent Systems, Optimization of Adaptive Systems, Adaptive Services, Adaptive Wireless Sensor Networks, Adaptive Collaboration, Role-Based Collaboration, Role Mechanisms in Adaptive Systems, E-CARGO and its Applications in Adaptive Systems
Submission
Papers for the Special Session should be submitted through the main conference online submission system on the SMC 2016 conference website. Papers for the Special Session should not be submitted to any other regular or special sessions.
All submitted papers of Special Sessions will have the same review process as regular submitted papers. Reviewers for Special Session papers will be members of the SMC 2016 Program Committee and peer-reviewers nominated by the Special Session organizers.
The special session is jointly organized by the IEEE SMC TC on Distributed Intelligent Systems and the IEEE SMC TC on Computer-Supported Cooperative Work in Design.
